DyDD is currently seeking a Head NSO for the 2016-2017 Season.League Head NSO Eligibility Requirements and Responsibilities
a) Be responsible for ongoing recruiting of league officials.
b) Be responsible for staffing NSOs at all home bouts. This includes determining how many visiting NSOs will be coming if there is a visiting team playing as well as ensuring that the level of officiating is equivalent to the type of bout being played (i.e., intraleague, interleague, regulation, sanctioned).
c) Be responsible for staffing NSOs to work away bouts that the league (WAVE or Home Teams) have scheduled.
d) Be responsible for preparing and completing all home bout paperwork. This includes sending the list of NSOs working the bout to Bout Pro at least one week prior to the date of the bout, preparing the stats book and having paperwork for the day of the bout as well as completing the stats book and sending that information to Games and the team captains within one week of the bout.
e) Ensure that ongoing development and training for NSOs continues through scrimmages and/or meetings.
f) Host a quarterly NSO (or joint officials) meeting to discuss rules revisions, clarifications, standard practices or updates to officiating from WFTDA, etc. – also, discuss opportunities the crew has as a whole on improving the making of calls, feedback from the crew on issues they see, and needs/issues from the league to be passed up from the Head NSO to the Games committee.
g) Provide ongoing feedback to all NSOs to improve individual performance.
h) Attend at least 3 Dockyard scrimmage practices a month. This requirement is somewhat flexible if prior arrangements are made with league Officials Liaison.
